Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan, has announced to launch BS programs in all colleges across the province. He has instructed the Higher Education Department to take necessary measures in this regard.
Mahmood Khan said that a second shift will also be started in the colleges where the enrollment rate is higher.
The decision was made during the progress review meeting of the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department on Tuesday, an official communique said.

Special Assistant to CM on Higher Education and Information, Kamran Bangash, Secretary Higher Education, Daud Khan, Secretary Finance, Atif Ur Rehman, Secretary Communication & Works, Ijaz Ansari, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
Briefing the meeting regarding the initiatives undertaken during the incumbent government, the education department informed that 19 new colleges had been established in different districts during the two and a half years, while work on 51 more colleges was in progress.
“Some 1,900 new posts of lecturers had been recently approved to overcome the deficiency of lecturers in colleges. An amount of Rs. 2.56 billion had been sanctioned for providing missing facilities in 177 colleges,” the handout said.

CM Mahmood Khan has directed concerned authorities to functionalize the newly developed colleges without any delay. He also sought proposals for restructuring the education department along the modern lines.
The meeting was informed that the BS blocks had been finalized in the 12 different colleges while Rs. 1.5 billion have also been released to develop science labs, provision of furniture, machinery, and other facilities.
