PSM to be Partially Privatized & Employees Laid Off

Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azher said that the government has decided to privatize the Pakistan Steels Mills (PSM) as it has become a “white elephant” which is causing a burden on the national exchequer. He said that PSM employees have not been working for many years and now they will get a financial package of around Rs. 2.3 million per employee as compensation. PIA Cuts Employees’ Salaries By Up to 25 Percent

Pakistan International Airlines has slashed the salaries of its employees by up to 25 percent in the wake of financial losses due to the coronavirus lockdown. PIA spokesperson, Abdullah Hafeez Khan, said in a statement that the national flag carrier is not left with enough money to pay full salaries to its staffers.
