The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has shut down the main runway of Allama Iqbal Airport, Lahore, for repair and maintenance work that started yesterday.
According to the official notification by CAA, the runway 18-L of Allama Iqbal airport will remain closed for all flights for the next 2 months, starting from 4 June.

CAA has directed all airline operators to use the runway 36-L.
The runway 18-L will be reopened for both domestic and international flights on August 4.
CAA has also ordered all airlines to limit the number of passengers to reduce the weight of aircraft till August 4.
CAA has warned to impose hefty fines and take stern action against airlines carrying out flight operations in violation of this order.
