Six members of the Pakistan squad tested positive on the first day of testing, even though all members of the touring party returned negative tests prior to departure.

Other members of the squad were also seen breaching protocols set in by the New Zealand government at the isolation facility and keeping in mind the mingling of the players throughout the journey, there might be a chance that further positive cases are identified.

New Zealand Director-General of Health, Dr. Ashley Bloomfield, said:

Rather than being in their own rooms which is the requirement for the first three days until that first test comes back, there was some mingling in the hallways, chatting, sharing food and not wearing masks which was obvious on the CCTV footage.

“The fact that these infections were found when they were tested on arrival in the country suggests that there may well be others that we uncover during that day three testing,” he added.

The tour will go ahead as scheduled, but as directed by the New Zealand government, further such incidents would put the tour in jeopardy.

Shoaib Akhtar Lashes Out at New Zealand for Disrespecting Pakistan

Shoaib Akhtar has started a heated debate on social media once again, saying that PCB should have firmly responded to the New Zealand government’s final warning to the Pakistan national team.

Akhtar said that if he was a part of the PCB management, he would have responded by calling the team back and not indulge in any cricketing activity with New Zealand Cricket for five years. He said that New Zealand should be indebted to Pakistan for touring the country in such dire times.

“New Zealand Cricket are getting the money for broadcasting rights, we won’t get anything, so they should be indebted to us that we have gone over to New Zealand at such a tough time and are doing this tour for you,” Akhtar said.

This sparked outrage on social media as many fans did not agree with Akhtar’s statement and reminded him that it is the responsibility of our cricketers to adhere to the regulations. Some fans agreed with Shoaib and said that New Zealand should be more respectful to Pakistan.

Shoaib has lost his senses.
He knows what our players did was wrong, so instead of making them realize what they did was wrong he's encouraging their wrongdoings.
Not strange but totally uncalled for.

Irresponsible from Rawalpindi Express,
Instead of Encouraging Pakistan Cricket Team to follow SOP's he is Asking PCB to Behave Arrogant

There should be some solid responce.. We are World's Champion .. If NZ board use some more hard words..then we should call our team back and bycott NZ series for next five years..#shoaib_akhtar ❤❤

US is Working on Using Telepathy for its Armed Forces

A future where soldiers can communicate through signals of their brains isn’t far as the Army Research Office (ARO) of the US has successfully separated the brain signals that influence action and behavior from signals that do not.

In a US Army-funded research project worth $6.5 million, ARO researchers monitored the brain signals of a monkey reaching for a ball over and over again in order to separate the brain signals.

The researchers used an algorithm and complex mathematics to first detect brain signals which direct motion and behavior and then separate them from other brain signals.

Hamid Krim, Program Manager at ARO, has said that the research team not only detected signals, but it interpreted them.

He added that ARO, based on these findings, aims to build a machine that gives feedback to soldier’s brains to allow them to take action before an event occurs, a capability that can protect the lives of soldiers.

Ultimately, these findings will also be used to enable silent communication by allowing the brain to communicate with computers so that soldiers can silently talk to each other in a field through a computer.

However, a lot of work still needs to be done before the development of any kind of battle-ready machine-human interface using brain signals, noted Hamid.

New Zealand government conveyed their message to PCB CEO, Wasim Khan, that one more instance of such kind will result in the cancellation of the tour, and that the team will be sent back home. Wasim Khan talked to the Pakistani squad and asked them to act according to the protocols set in place. He said that this a matter of national pride and if any further incidents happen it will be hugely embarrassing for the country.

“They have a zero-tolerance policy and they’ve given us a final warning. We understand that this is a difficult time for you, and you went through similar conditions in England. It’s not easy. But this is a matter of the nation’s respect and credibility,” Wasim said.

Babar vs Kohli: Mohammad Amir Reveals Who’s Tougher to Bowl

The left-arm pacer, Mohammad Amir, has lauded the batting prowess of Babar Azam, saying that he finds it more difficult to bowl to Babar as compared to Virat Kohli.

The Pakistani captain has been in sublime form over the past few years and recently took Karachi Kings to their first ever PSL title with a match-winning knock in the final. Babar also captained Pakistan to a T20I and ODI series win over Zimbabwe earlier in the month.

Babar has been garnering praise from all over the world and comparisons with Virat Kohli have started to surface once again. Kohli is one of the top batsmen in the world and was the top run scorer across all formats in the last decade.

Babar is giving Kohli a run for his money lately with sublime batting performances in all three formats. Like Kohli, Babar has also been named as the captain of the national team in all three formats.

Mohammad Amir had his say on the comparisons between Babar and Kohli as well. Amir said that it is easier to bowl to Kohli as compared to Babar because of the difference in stance between the two.

“If you compare Babar with Kohli, I find it difficult bowling to Babar because of his stance because if I take the ball away from him he plays the drive [through off-side] and if I bring the ball back in, he flicks it [through on-side],” Amir said.

Both the batsmen are neck to neck in stats as well. Babar has a slightly better average than Kohli in T20Is, while Kohli is slightly above Babar in Tests and ODIs. While Kohli has played a lot more cricket than Babar, there is potential for Babar to surpass the Indian skipper.

Upgraded Redmi Note 9 Series Unveiled With 108MP Camera, 120Hz Screen and Same Affordable Price

After several leaks and teasers, Xiaomi’s offshoot Redmi has finally announced the much-anticipated Redmi Note 9 Trio, the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 5G, and the Redmi Note 9 4G in China. The smartphones have been launched to the Redmi Note 9 series launched earlier this year globally.

Design and Display
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, star of the series, and the Redmi Note 9 5G come with an identical design. Both feature a Huawei Mate 30-like circular camera bump and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Pro model comes with a 6.67-inch LCD panel with 1080p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display automatically adapts to the application and offers six different refresh rates ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz. The touch sampling runs at 240Hz to boot. And the front and back are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The Vanilla 5G model, on the other hand, is built around a 6.53-inch LCD panel with 1080p resolution and a standard refresh rate. The display can bring its brightness down to just one nit for night time viewing and is TUV-certified for low blue light emissions.

Lastly, the Redmi Note 9 4G model has a rectangular bump and features a design different from the other two smartphones in the series. It comes with a display similar to the vanilla 5G model.

Internals and Storage
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 750G chipset topped with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB onboard storage.

The Redmi Note 9 5G comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset at the helm, while the 4G model is driven by Qualcomm’s snapdragon 662 SoC. The former has storage options similar to the Pro model, while the latter is available in 4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB RAM options.

All phones make use of UFS 2.2, which is reportedly 2x faster than the previous UFS 2.1.

Cameras
The key highlight of Redmi’s new Note 9 Pro 5G is the 1/1.52” ISOCELL HM2, Samsung’s third 108MP sensor it comes with. Although the sensor is smaller than the one used in Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, it supports the same 9-in-1-pixel binning tech while the first Xiaomi models with a 108MP camera did to 4-in-1 binning. The main camera module is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, a 2 MP macro lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 16 MP single sensor shooter.

The Vanilla 5G model is also equipped with a quad-sensor rear camera setup but features a more modest larger 48 MP sensor topped with an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro lens. For selfies, it features a 13 MP sensor.

The Redmi Note 9 4G comes with a triple sensor camera with a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie front is handled by an 8 MP shooter.

Battery and Pricing
The Pro model is equipped with a 4,820 mAh battery and comes with a 33W fast charger that can fill the battery from 0% to 100% in just 58 minutes.

The vanilla model is powered by a slightly larger 5,000mAh battery, though charging speed has been toned down to 18W. Lastly, the 4G model packs a whopping 6000 mAh battery with 18 W fast charging.

The smartphones are currently available for sale. The Pro model costs somewhere between €205-€255, depending on the variant. The Vanilla 5G model costs €166-€217 while the 4G model will set users back by €128-€165.
