Details on #WeAreUnstoppable KIA Cars Spotted at Packages Mall, Lahore

Kia Motors Pakistan is continuing to make headlines in the automotive segment of Pakistan as the four #WeAreUnstoppable cars journey from Karachi, on what seems to be a cross-country vehicle testing trip. Kia’s ‘unstoppable entourage’ was spotted on 25 November at Packages Mall in Lahore, where it drew quite a lot of attention.

As reported last week on ProPakistani, the cars in the convoy are the Kia Stinger, the Kia Niro, the Kia Cerato, and the Kia Sorento. Although the colorful #WeAreUnstoppable skins have concealed the identities of the cars considerably, keen-eyed car enthusiasts were able to identify details such as the headlights, taillights, sizes, and the silhouettes of each car.

Ever since its return to Pakistan, Kia has developed a fierce reputation among the automakers as a formidable opponent in the industry. It launched the Sportage SUV and the Grand Carnival MPV in August 2019, and the Picanto Hatchback shortly afterward.

Sportage and Picanto became huge hits, with the Sportage as the bestselling vehicle in the compact crossover SUV segment of Pakistan. Since this success, car buyers have been waiting eagerly for Kia to add more products to its arsenal for them to have more options in the market.

It seems like Kia has finally responded to the demand and may be poising itself to make a big splash in other popular car segments as well.

Here is what you need to know about the four iconic cars in Kia’s ‘unstoppable entourage’.

Kia Stinger

Kia Stinger is regarded in the international market as one of the heavy hitters that can give the likes of BMW, Audi, and Mercedes a run for their money in the super sedan segment. The high performance ‘Stinger GT’ has won multiple awards across the globe for its razor-sharp performance and contemporary design.

The car is mostly offered in the international market with a choice of two main engines. One of them is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 251 horsepower and 353 newton-meters of torque. The other is a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine that makes 368 horsepower and 510 newton-meters of torque. Both engines send power to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Stinger has been classified with the big luxury super Sportback sedans in the international market as it has both the performance and the features to serve as a comfortable highway cruiser, making it a perfect all-rounder for daily driving and occasional fun.

Kia Niro

As Kia’s take on the future of transportation, the Niro is an impressive blend of comfort, practicality, and efficiency. Being one of the very few hybrid/all-electric crossover SUVs, the Niro is one of the hottest commodities among car buyers in the international market.

The SUV is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 105 horsepower and 147 newton-meters of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The car is also available as a hybrid and as an Electric Vehicle (EV).

The Niro competes with the likes of the Honda BR-V and the Suzuki Vitara, and is a unique product in the segment for its availability as either a hybrid or as an all-electric powertrain.

Kia Sorento

Three weeks ago, Kia was reportedly gearing up to bring the Sorento to the Pakistani market. The Sorento is Kia’s midsize crossover SUV that sits between the compact Sportage and the full-sized Telluride SUVs, and is a competitor of the Toyota Fortuner and the Hyundai Santa Fe.

Reports suggest that Kia has already brought in a few CBU units with two engine options to Pakistan for rigorous testing. One of them is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 169 horsepower and 220 newton-meters of torque. The other one is a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine that makes 276 horsepower and 336 newton-meters of torque.

Both the engines can be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels or the front wheels only, depending on how the car is optioned. The numbers certainly suggest that the Sorento has what it takes to be the new king of the midsize crossover SUV segment.

Kia Cerato

This has been perhaps one of the most anticipated cars in Pakistan throughout 2020 due to rumors and news on social media. The Cerato is a midsize family sedan that will, upon arrival, compete against the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla, and the Hyundai Elantra.

The Cerato is reportedly likely to feature a 1.6-liter in-line 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 123 horsepower and 154 newton-meters of torque, and can be mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

It has a great shot at becoming one of the top contenders in the compact sedan segment given the desire for an additional choice in the market apart from the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic.

Conclusion
While all these cars show a lot of promise to be successful in the country, details about if and when Kia will launch them here are still under wraps. Nonetheless, what drives the buying decision is obviously the price of the car.

Considering the price of the Sportage, Kia has been relatively modest in terms of setting prices for its cars. This indicates that Kia is likely to keep its prices market competitive in each of the segments to position its cars among the top sellers in the country.

Babar vs Kohli: Mark Nicholas Picks Babar Instead of Kohli in All-Format World XI

Renowned commentator, Mark Nicholas, believes that Babar Azam is a better player in all formats than Virat Kohli. Nicholas selected his current all-format world XI and included the likes of Babar Azam and Kane Williamson over Indian captain, Virat Kohli.

Kohli has been widely regarded as one of the best batsmen in all formats but Nicholas believes that Kohli’s current form doesn’t warrant a place in the world XI. Instead, he chose the Pakistani captain to play at the all-crucial number three spot for his team.

Babar has been in sublime form and was named as Pakistan’s all-format captain recently. Babar has really transformed his Test match game over the past few years and is the only batsman in the world to be ranked in the top five in each format.

Kohli, on the other hand, has been faltering. His T20 numbers in the recently concluded Indian Premier League were average and he has led the Indian team to their fifth consecutive loss in the 2nd ODI against Australia.

Mark Nicholas, a former cricketer himself, said that Rohit Sharma and AB de Villiers narrowly missed out on his team as well. He said had AB de Villiers been playing for the national team, then he would have been in his team. He added that although Rohit is a great player, the other players have a slight edge over him in all three formats.

Realme Ace to Feature Snapdragon 875 and Super Fast Charging: Leak

The Oppo Reno Ace lineup has remained exclusive to Oppo ever since it first debuted back in October last year. However, now that the flagship status appears to be moving to the Reno 5 series, it seems that the company is transferring the Ace lineup to its sub-company Realme.

A tipster has claimed that the Chinese company is working on a Realme Ace flagship phone that will be powered by the Snapdragon 875 and will have a thin chassis. He says that it will also have super-fast charging and since the currently existing Reno Ace lineup already features 65W fast charging, we can expect to see much faster charging on the Realme Ace.

There is no more information on the upcoming Realme flagship as of yet, but the company recently unveiled 125W Ultra Dart fast charging technology which can charge a 4,000 mAh battery up to 33% in just 3 minutes. The technology may debut with the upcoming Realme Ace.

On the other hand, Realme is also expected to launch a successor to the Realme X50 flagship series next year. It remains unclear whether the Realme X60 will be the next flagship or the Realme Ace. There are no details available on the Realme X60 series as of yet, but stay tuned for updates.
