Citizens are being told to return home by the security guards of the two MVCs, stating that the vaccination process has stopped due to the maintenance of NADRA’s website– National Immunization Management System (NIMS)—and will resume after two days. Meanwhile, the healthcare staff at the rest of the MVCs in Lahore are only facilitating the citizens coming for a second dose of the vaccine while denying the first dose.
Elsewhere in Punjab, the vaccination process has also stopped in some MVCs of Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala due to the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines.
A senior official at Punjab’s Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), on the condition of anonymity, revealed that only a day’s stock of COVID-19 vaccine is available in the province.
