Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication, Dr. Shahbaz Gill, announced that the government will increase the salaries of its employees in the upcoming budget 2021-22.
While addressing a press briefing, Dr. Shahbaz Gill said, “We are going to make an announcement regarding an increase in salaries of the government employees in the upcoming budget”.

The federal government did not raise the salaries of government employees and pension of retired workers last year due to the economic downfall amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Shahbaz Gill commended the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan in ensuring that the GDP growth of the country reached near 4 percent.
“The growth rate is estimated at four percent this year despite the country facing pandemic,” he added.

He further informed that textile exports of the country have increased with exports touching a 10-year high, adding that a four-year record has been broken in the stock exchange as well.
He acknowledged the role played by overseas Pakistanis in this by sending remittances to Pakistan in record number.
