The Saudi government has announced a phased-resumption of Umrah pilgrimage for international pilgrims from next month, ending the months-long suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic
The development will allow thousands of Muslims across the world, including Pakistan, to travel to the holy cities during Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Saudi Arabia said that the international Umrah will resume from November 1st, 2020.

All eligible countries will be informed by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

One of the primary requirements for intending pilgrims will be a negative PCR test taken 72-hours before departure. They will also serve a mandatory three-day quarantine period in the hotel.

Moreover, individuals will not be allowed to embark on the holy journey, as the new rules prescribe travel in groups under a guide. Travelers are also required to have confirmed return tickets matching their Umrah program.
Each group must be accompanied by a registered guide as no individual will be allowed to perform the Umrah.

The authorities are expecting 10,000 foreign pilgrims on average every week. These travelers will be divided into groups of 50, each with a dedicated guide.
Moreover, pilgrims will have to book their Umrah and prayers at the two Holy Mosques. It includes visiting the Prophet’s (PBUH) mosque and prayers in the Prophet’s (PBUH) chamber.
