Rashid Latif Identifies the Best Young Coach in Pakistan

Former wicket-keeper, Rashid Latif, has claimed that Balochistan head coach, Faisal Iqbal, is currently the best young coach in the country. Faisal was appointed as the head coach of Balochistan ahead of the ongoing domestic season.

Balochistan is currently at the third spot in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, having beaten Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 186 runs in the second round. They lost their first match by 4 wickets from Southern Punjab. Balochistan finished bottom of the table in the recently concluded National T20 Cup.

Faisal Iqbal had a less than impressive international career. The nephew of the great Javed Miandad was touted as the next big thing in batting but failed to impress as he could not capitalize on his chances.

Faisal represented Pakistan in 26 Tests and 18 ODIs. His average in both the formats was in the mid-20s which wasn’t enough to warrant a place in the national setup.

But Faisal has been highly regarded as a coach though. He has served as the batting coach for Karachi Kings for the past two seasons and under his tutelage, Kings finished 2nd in the group stages of PSL 5.
