Education Department Announces New Exam Schedule For Balochistan

The Education Department of Balochistan has announced that no academic examinations will be taken in the province for the remainder of this year amid the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Earlier, the provincial Minister for Education, Yar Mohammad Rind, had said that the examinations will be conducted before the winter break.

The department issued the new examination schedule on Thursday, under which the examinations for the primary section will be conducted next year after the commencement of classes.

According to the schedule, the examinations for grades 1-5 will start on 10 March 2021, but it does not mention the examination dates for the secondary classes.

Earlier this week, the government of Balochistan had announced a three-month closure of educational institutions from 1 December.

Meanwhile, the government of Sindh has announced that it will forego the academic winter break this year despite a sharp surge in COVID-19 cases.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the provincial Minister of Sindh for Education and Labor, Saeed Ghani, stated that the students had already had an extended break in the summer which is why there will be no winter break for them.
