Pakistani Girl Sirine Jahangir Wins Hearts With ‘Magical’ Performance At Britain’s Got Talent

Sirine Jahangir, a blind Pakistani girl became an instant sensation when Britain saw her singing at Britain’s Got Talent. The 14-year-old singer was the only contestant of Pakistani origin in this season of Britain’s Got Talent. Sirine just made everyone drool over her voice.

She is the granddaughter of Sahibzada Jahangir, one of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s oldest friends and his spokesperson on Trade and Investment in the UK and Europe.

Who is Sirine Jahangir?

At the age of five, Sirine and her parents realized she had a serious eyesight problem was when she dressed up as a pirate, said a report by Chronicle Live. Soon a patch covered her right eye and she couldn’t see. All vision had already gone from her left eye.

Four years later at the age of nine, Sirine lost all vision in her right eye. But, this did not stop this young Pakistani girl from dreaming big!

Her father Kafeel recalled, “We tried everything, even having her treated in India for six weeks and injections into her eye. But we felt helpless. When she was nine, Sirine was playing a game on her iPad and holding it very close to her face as she always did.

“Suddenly she came over, handed me the tablet and said she couldn’t play it any more. That was the moment I knew her sight was gone. I took myself into another room of the house to have a cry.”

Britain’s Got Talent fans call for the judges to be ‘sacked’

The 14-year-old singer, from London, blew away viewers with her powerful rendition of Carry You by Ruelle in the ITV show’s third semi-final last Saturday night.

Pakistani Sirine Jahangir was so overcome with emotion at the end of her performance that she broke down in tears at Britain’s Got Talent show.

The Pakistani girl had earned a place in the top three against magician Magical Bones and dance troupe X1X Crew. However, she lost out to the former. The final will be aired in October.

The judges, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, David Walliams, and Ashley Banjo, all lauded Sirine for a “magical” performance. However, when she was ignored for the finals, viewers were not happy.

Pakistanis, no matter where they live, are full of talents. A 16-year-old Muhammad Shaheer Niazi from Lahore recently also broke Newton’s record related to the honeycomb theory. And now Sirine is getting love and praises for her beautiful voice. This is just the beginning of your shinning singing career girl! BTW, Sirine is planning to come to Pakistani during summer break.
