Muharrum is one of the most sacred months in the Islamic calendar and holds high regard for the Muslim community all over the world, especially Shia Muslims. Nonetheless, the Holy month of Muharrum is the month when 1400 years ago the family of the Prophet (PBUH) was persecuted, martyred, and the remaining members took captives by the tyrant Yazid. Muslims all around the world mourn for the events that took place at Karbala.
