This year, 5 Pakistani films were released on Eid UL Fitr. All the film makers of Pakistan had higher hopes and expectations from the public and some how they managed to pull people towards cinema. Ghabrana Nahi Hai and Dam Mastam collected decent revenew on their first three days. Film makers were also amused that movies were smoothly running in the cinema but an international release “Dr Strange” came and affected local films. Dr Strange was released on 6th May after which all the Pakistani movies were taken down without any notice and information.
The filmmakers expressed their anger and conducted the press conference too. All the film makers are of the view that the international films can be released with a short delay or at least they should not take down Pakistani “New Releases”, that too on the fourth day of their release.
Alot of actors have recorded their condemnation and expressed their anger with Cinema owners. They are of the view that a foreign film comes and takes over Pakistani cinema which is sad , they said that it’s injustice with the producers and actors. Amar Khan made a video. She hurtingly said that it strange that a foreign film Dr Strange came and they quietly halted Pakistani movies and lessened the screens.
Dananeer Mobeen, Arsalan Naseer, Farhan Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui and Kinza Hashmi also showed their extreme anger. Here are all responses.
Public also responded to the celebrities reacting to it, some fans supported them while many other criticized producers of releasing 5 movies together. They also gave some reality checks to producers. Have a look!
