The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has sought clarification from the airlines for not serving meals to passengers on domestic flights.
The aviation authority took notice of the violation of meal service in the name of COVID-19 and expressed concerns over the non-provision of meals to the passengers during flights.

In a statement on Monday, the aviation authority maintained that it had granted permission to the airlines to serve meals on domestic flights, yet some carriers failed to follow the order and spread misinformation in this regard, which is a serious issue.
“The air carriers have been directed to serve meals to the travelers, or provide an accurate reason for stopping the service,” it said.

It is worth mentioning here that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had allowed domestic air carriers to serve packaged meals to their passengers.
In its directive, the aviation regulator had issued updated coronavirus SOPs, allowing for flights to serve food to the passengers which had been banned since November last year during the second wave.
