Pakistan Eyes Huge Tourism Exports Like Switzerland

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the tourism sector could improve the country’s economic state. He claimed that ecotourism has great potential to boost Pakistan’s revenue and offer employment opportunities.

The premier made this statement while addressing the Tiger Force volunteers in Naran on Monday. The area is the commercial hub of Kaghan valley and garners tourists year-round.

“Switzerland is half the size of our northern areas and has no match with the natural beauty of our landscape, yet it earns $80 billion from tourism whereas our total export is $25 billion,” he said.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) was the first political party to address climate in their election campaign manifesto. Our government is also behind several environmental efforts, such as the ‘billion tree tsunami.’ The Prime Minister asserted that it’s his vision to keep Pakistan clean and green to attract tourists from all over the world.

He added that he was very happy that the bureaucracy completely believed in the PTI government’s ‘vision of a clean and green Pakistan.’

“We have to leave such a Pakistan for our upcoming generations that they will thank us for caring about them,” the premier said.

PM Imran emphasized the need to keep tourist spots pollution-free and told the locals to care for all tourist spots. On the subject of deforestation in green havens like Kaghan, Imran Khan directed the administration to adopt tough measures to protect forests and ensure cleanliness.

He also talked about the protection of the region’s fauna, such as trout fish.

“As trout fish is rapidly becoming an endangered species, the administration should take measures for its preservation,” he added.
