Meizu Launches Apple Watch Lookalike for $192

Almost five years after launching its first proper watch, Meizu has finally released its first proper smartwatch dubbed the Meizu Watch. It’s nothing like Meizu Mix, rather looks like a reminiscent Apple Watch 6, in terms of design.

Design and Display

The Meizu Mix came with a classic design with physical hands without a digital screen. In comparison, the Meizu Watch is built around a 1.78-inch AMOLED with 368 x 448 pixels resolution, 326 PPI pixel density, 500 nits brightness, and 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection.

It has a square dial similar to the Apple Watch and has a small button on the side. The chassis is built out of aluminum alloy and the base is ceramic. The body of the watch measures 46 x 38.4 x 12.9 mm and is held by fluoro-rubber straps.

Internals

The watch is powered by the Snapdragon Wear 4100 topped with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. It comes with support for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and LTE. The software front is handled by Flyme for Watch based on Wear OS.

The watch also comes with an eSIM. Hence, it can handle calls and texts and even streaming music without a smartphone. In addition to this, you also get Meizu Pay. As far as fitness tracking and sports monitoring are concerned, Meizu Watch can measure your heart rate and monitor your blood-oxygen level. It also features sleep and stress tracking and supports 13 different exercise modes.

Battery and Pricing

The Watch packs a 420 mAh battery, that, according to Meizu, will last up to 36 hours on a single charge in addition to fast charging. It is currently available for sale in China and costs $192.
