Sindh Suggests Exams of Only Elective Subjects This Year

Sindh government has recommended the federal and other provincial governments to consider taking exams of only elective subjects of matriculation and intermediate students amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

In this regard, a virtual meeting was held on Monday with Secretary School Education and Literacy Department (SELD) Sindh, Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, in the chair.

Chairpersons of all educational boards in Sindh, Punjab, KP, Balochistan, GB, and AJK attended the meeting and voiced support for the recommendation of the Sindh government.

During the meeting, Secretary SELD said that implementing the proposal will allow matric and inter students to easily get admitted before the commencement of new academic sessions in colleges and universities respectively.

According to details, the proposal of the Sindh government will come under discussion at the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) that will be held later today.

Federal Education Minister, Shafqat Mahmood, will preside over the IPEMC that will take the final decision regarding matriculation and intermediate examinations in the country in view of the current situation of the Coronavirus pandemic.
