Intel has taken the veil off of two new chips, the Core i7-1195G7, the most powerful U series chip in the lineup, and the Core i5-1155G7, which is the company’s top tier Core i5 chip.
Both of these new chips operate at lower voltages than the rest, ranging between 12W to 28W. These chips feature a four-core/eight-thread configuration and Intel’s Iris Xe integrated graphics.
The base clock speed on the Core i7-1195G7 is 2.9GHz, but it can reach a 5.0GHz maximum single-core speed thanks to Intel’s Turbo Boost Max 3.0. The Core i5 model on the other hand is limited to a 2.5GHz base clock speed and a boost clock speed of 4.5GHz.
Other than that, Intel has also released its latest 5G modem for laptops, which is a new M.2 card that companies will easily be able to incorporate into their designs. This modem is called the Intel 5G Solution 5000 and it comes as a collaboration between Intel, Mediatek, and Fibocom.
This will enable sub-6GHz 5G support and integrated eSIM technology.
