In Pakistan, social media influencers and content creators always face criticism from the mainstream media celebrities who think that the social media celebrities got fame too easily by showing random content. In a recent interview, Fahad Mustafa criticized the YouTubers. He said that the YouTubers are creating content by selling their families on social media. His statement indirectly targeted the popular daily lifestyle vloggers including Maaz Safder, Ducky Bhai, Iqra Kanwal and Kanwal Aftab and Zulqarnain Sikandar.
Lately, in Kanwal Aftab and Jalal Karim’s podcast “Nonstop Podcast”, Maaz Safder replied to the criticism by Fahad Mustafa.
Talking about it, Maaz Safder said, “I heard his statement but I didn’t react to it because I didn’t want to, however, I thought that I am working like the way he’s working too. I met him once in Karachi (in Ary Studio). I like him. He makes the best films, he is a respected figure. I even love his work; I watched Quaid E Azam Zindabad in the cinema and we appreciate him. Now, I would like to say that people will run their house with some or the other content. If he is working with a girl in the film, that girl also has a family”.
Kanwal Aftab also questioned his statement, saying, “yes, if you and I are doing a drama together and we are playing our characters, we are selling ourselves too by coming on camera, so what’s the difference as people on tv are also selling something”. The host Jalal Karim also added that family vlogging is only watched by families. Here is the link to the video:
