Dr Asfandyar played by Ahad Raza Mir in the hit drama Yakeen Ka Safar is one for the books. The drama was a blockbuster and this brought the chemistry between Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir which later on changed into a real life relationship. The character also catapulted Ahad Raza Mir’s career to a star status.
Now we have another doctor’s character on television and again with Sajal Aly as the lead actress in Zard Patton Ka Bunn on Hum TV. This time Dr Nofil is played by Hamza Sohail and the character will work for women’s empowerment in the newly started series. In an interview with BBC Urdu, Hamza Sohail was asked if Dr Asfandyar was the inspiration for his character.
Hamza said that he has not seen Yakeen Ka Safar and he did not know that people will compare the two. He is thankful that he did not know or he would have had the pressure to live up to Dr Asfandyar like expectations. He is happy with his character and how he will support women empowerment.
