Recently, she appeared in Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast Excuse Me, in the podcast, she talked about her early marriage, divorce effects on her kids and plans of second marriage.
Talking about her marriage, she said, ‘It was a love marriage, and I was 23 at the time of my Nikah. My mother agreed to marry me off on one condition, which was that I complete my house job. At that time, I was angry with her, but it was the smartest decision on her part because without completing my house job, I wouldn’t have been able to practice. It wouldn’t have been possible for me to be independent. She made sure that I worked and didn’t just sit at home. My mother was also a gynecologist, and my father was in the Army. Talking about divorce, Tamkenat said, “I didn’t face anything after divorce because people knew that me and my family were strong, I had a nervous breakdown after which I took the decision to take divorce because I was told that my mental condition is deteriorating because of that relationship. It wasn’t physical abuse. I was in a marriage for ten years and nobody wants divorce without reasons, I am sure there are the valid reasons behind every divorce and it was my decision to take divorce because things were not good between us and the situation was heading towards divorce”. Talking about why she doesn’t talk against her ex-husband, Tamkenat Mansoor said, “I don’t speak against my ex-husband in front of my kids because he’s their father. It is not a practice at our home, neither me nor my parents talk against my ex-husband, and if my children speak against him, we stop them. My kids rarely meet their father. Now everyone knows me, they watch me—my kids, their classmates, their family, and my ex-husband and his family. Everybody will hear me if I say anything about my marriage, so, why would I speak against him? My kids are quite close to my parents, so they never feel the effects of a broken family because they have a healthy environment, I think a broken family is the one where parents live under one roof but fight all the time “.
