PCB to Arrange Chartered Flight for Sri Lankan PSL Stars

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be arranging a chartered flight to fly Sri Lankan players to Lahore for the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The players will then board from Lahore to United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 26 May via a chartered flight.

Earlier, PCB had requested Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to allow Sri Lankan players to enter Pakistan despite a ban on entry from the country due to the COVID-19 situation. CAA announced that special permission has been granted to the PCB to fly the Sri Lankan players and staff to Lahore via a chartered flight.

The Sri Lankan players and staff including, Karachi Kings’ all-rounder, Thisara Perera, and Lahore Qalandars’ spinner, Seekugge Prasanna, will travel to Lahore on Monday, before moving to Karachi on May 26, to board a flight to Abu Dhabi on the same day.

The touring party will be required to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which include COVID-19 testing upon arrival.

Despite a lot of troubles initially, PCB managed to receive the green light from UAE authorities to host the remainder of the tournament in Abu Dhabi. The tournament is expected to resume from 5 June, with the final scheduled to be played on 20 June. The official schedule for the remainder of the tournament will be released by PCB in the next few days.
