One of the non-diplomat staff of the Indian High Commission (IHC) infected with the deadly Indian variant of COVID-19 has entered Pakistan as a result of the negligence of Indian authorities.
According to details, Ms. Manju, 32, who hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, crossed into Pakistan on Saturday through the Wagha border along with 12 other members of the non-diplomat staff of the IHC.

While speaking with a local news outlet about the development, the spokesperson for Foreign Office, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary, said that Pakistani border authorities allowed the members of the IHC to enter Pakistan according to the enforced SOPs as all of them carried negative PCR test reports.
However, one member of the non-diplomat staff of the IHC tested positive for the deadly Indian variant of COVID-19 after Pakistani health authorities conducted RAT of all staff members upon arrival.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani foreign office has directed IHC to put all 12 non-diplomat staff members under mandatory quarantine.
On the other hand, India has yet to issue a statement regarding the criminal dereliction on part of the Indian border authorities.
