WhatsApp is Bringing Self Destructing Messages Soon

WhatsApp is slowly rolling out a plethora of new features to its iOS and Android applications. The latest ones were dark mode and fingerprint authentication.
The Facebook-owned messaging application is now working to bring self-destructing messages to its platform soon. The feature that has been in testing for a long time will make it possible to delete messages after a certain time.
Although fans showed great interest in the feature, after a while of testing, the company decided that it will only become a part of group chats. Direct messages in the app would not get the feature any time soon, but that might change soon.
Folks over at WABetaInfo have uncovered references in the latest beta version of WhatsApp (2.20.84) that point towards the upcoming feature for all chats in the app. The feature itself is not currently available on the beta version but is under development.

Honda Pakistan Announces Huge Discount Offer on All Cars

Ministry of IT Awards Projects Worth Rs. 2.8 Billion for Improving Broadband Access

Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, through Universal Service Fund (USF), has made landmark achievements in the first six months of FY 2019-20 (July-December).
During this period, six Next Generation Broadband for Sustainable Development (NGBSD) projects worth Rs. 2.8 billion were awarded for the socio-economic uplift of the people.
Through these projects, hi-speed mobile broadband access is being provided to over 9 million (approximately) citizens in total, residing in 4333 mauzas spread across 13 districts.
The contracts of these projects were awarded for hi-speed broadband services to the following areas according to the performance report of USF, an organization under Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.

SBP Makes Online Payments Free for All Commercial Banks

In order to curtail the risk of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and limit the physical interaction of citizens at the branch level, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has waived off transactional charges on various modes of online payments for customers on a temporary basis to be effective from March 20.
Customers can now make banking transactions without any charges for fund transfer, utility bills payments, tax submission, mobile top-ups and etc.
According to a circular issued by SBP, commercial and microfinance banks shall waive all charges for customers using their online fund transfer services including Intra and Interbank Fund Transfers (IBFT) till further instructions.
Banks/MFBs shall waive the transaction charges on RTGS customer transfers (MT 102 and MT103). In this regard, SBP has also waived charges on such transactions with immediate effect till further instructions.

Its Not a Test Championship Without Pak-Ind Matches: Waqar Younis

Former Pakistan captain, Waqar Younis has come forward with the suggestion that the International Cricket Council (ICC) needs to intervene for Pakistan-India cricketing ties to improve.
In an interview, the current bowling coach of Pakistan cricket team said that the ICC World Test Championship without a Pakistan-India series does not make any sense.
The ICC should have intervened and done something because to me having a test championship without Pakistan and India Test matches makes no sense.
As per the rules, each team has to play 6 other teams in the two-year-long competition, meaning that the arch-rivals don’t have to face each other in the tournament.

Toyota Yaris Launch Has Been Delayed Indefinitely

We have seen the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the global auto market, with factories shutting down and drops in both sales and production. This will also affect us as one of the local automakers is delaying an upcoming model.
There are reports that the launch of Toyota Yaris, which was originally set to take place on the 27th March in Lahore, will be delayed. Due to the outbreak, the launch has been postponed again with no formal date announced as per media reports. Sources say:

Govt to Reduce Electricity Tariff Soon

The federal government has decided to review all local and international energy agreements to reduce the adverse effects of coronavirus on the country’s economy and to pass on the relief to the common man. This was decided during a federal cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan heading it.

Facebook is Giving $1000 to Employees to Support Them Amidst the Epidemic

Facebook announced a work from home policy for all of its employees a few days ago and now they’re also planning to give out a $1000 bonus to every worker to help them amidst the epidemic.
The decision was reportedly announced by founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg through an internal memo on Tuesday. Facebook later explained the details saying that all of the bonuses will be distributed throughout April.
