Samsung’s First Ever Phone With An Under-Display Camera Leaks

According to a recent report by ETNews, Samsung’s next Z Fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold3, will be the first phone by the company to feature an under-display camera (UDC).

The report cites an industry insider who claims that Samsung Display has developed a screen that will support UDC. To let the light pass through the display panel, the gap between the pixels was made wider. However, despite that, special algorithms are needed to correct the image since the light refracts as it passes through the OLED panel. The camera module used will be developed by Samsung LSI.

To keep the display quality intact, only the area above the camera has wider gaps. Hence, the display quality in that particular region is slightly compromised. The following image from Axon 20 that employs a similar mechanism show how the pixel density in the area above the camera is lower than other parts of the display.

The foldable phone is set to launch in Q3 2021. Hence, Samsung has plenty of time to come up with the perfect mechanism to pull this off. Nevertheless, an under-display camera system on the Galaxy Fold3 will solidify its position in the flagship market as the Galaxy Note series is being merged with the Galaxy S-series.

KE Wants to Charge Consumers for All of Its Bad Debts

K-Electric has applied to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for approval to shift the burden of bad debts and write-offs to its consumers through tariff adjustment.

K-Electric (KE) aims to make up for its Rs. 7.5 billion of bad debts through this measure, a national daily reported on Friday. In its annual report for the year that ended June 30, 2020, KE reported bad debts and write-offs valuing Rs. 7.49 billion, receivable from more than 70,000 consumers.

However, this may lead KE to face taxation issues, experts told the media. According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) rules, bad debts are not allowed to be written off as expenses under the tax laws and are not admissible in the tax assessment either. According to news reports, the tax authorities had already rejected KE’s attempts of writing off bad debts last year.

According to reports, the new varieties – NIGAB-1 and NIGAB-2 – were developed at the National Institute for Genomic and Advanced Biotechnology (NIGAB) of the National Agricultural Research Centre. This research center has currently produced 300,000 disease-free plants through tissue culture.

The Sindh Seed Council has approved the commercial cultivation of NIGAB-1 and NIGAB-2 in the province. According to sessional experiments, these varieties are potentially high-yielding and will sustain extended shelf life.

National performance statistics show that banana is cultivated over 80,000 acres of land in Pakistan. The fruit is also an essential source of income for thousands of rural households in developing countries. Currently, agrochemical-intensive production fueled with declining producer prices has given rise to substantial environmental challenges.

Education Department Announces New Exam Schedule For Balochistan

He made this announcement on Thursday while addressing a press briefing with the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shibli Faraz; the Minister for Defense Production, Zubaida Jalal; and the Minister for Communication, Murad Saeed.

Minister Asad Umar said that the government will focus on improving the living standard of the locals and that it would also engage the private sector in development projects in the area. He added that this package was prepared under the special direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Umar said that agriculture in southern Balochistan is the most important source of income for locals for which they need water, and that dams would have to be built for this.

“Once the water is also available, people start producing grains, fruits, and other products. But they did not have the resources to sell them in big cities. So, the government will establish industries in those areas to enable them to preserve and add value to their products,” he said.

The government will also build sixteen new dams that will irrigate about 150,000 acre of land. Additionally, approximately 640,000 children will receive distance education.
