With the spike in Coronavirus cases and lockdown extension, it doesn't seem like theatres will open anytime soon atleast not for the next six months. This has resulted in mid-budget and low-budget films taking the route of OTT platforms. With a bunch of Hindi and South films releasing on multiple OTT platforms, many producers are currently in negotiations for their films too. Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Ghoomketu is already releasing on ZEE5 this month. It seems like another project Bole Chudiyan starring Nawaz and Tamannaah Bhatia will see a digital release too.

Co-producer Rajesh Bhatia has confirmed that they are open to the idea of an OTT release. He said that if the film beams to 200 countries, they think that's a great deal for the right price. Actor Salman Khan has been stationed with a bunch of his family members and friends at his Panvel farmhouse ever since the lockdown was announced. Most of his family members include his sister Arpita Khan Sharma, brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, their kids, nephew Nirvaan, among others. Meanwhile, his parents are in Bandra, Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai. After 60 days, he paid them a visit after getting all the necessary permissions.

On May 19, Salman Khan made a quick visit to Bandra to meet his elderly parents Salim and Salma Khan after being touch with them via video calls. He also oversaw the relief work that his father has been doing. After spending a few hours with them, he went back to the Panvel farmhouse.

Actor Zayed Khan is all set to make a comeback as father Sanjay Khan will be relaunching him. Sanjay Khan is planning to make a biopic on 1947 India-Pakistan war hero Brigadier Mohammad Usman with Zayed Khan in the title role.

In an interview with a tabloid, Sanjay Khan spoke about directing Zayed Khan for the first time. He said that Zayed is one of the most handsome actors in the film industry and that the audience will rediscover him in the movie. Sanjay Khan said that it is his duty as a father to make a film for his son.
Talking about the film, he said that he is working hard on the script because he wants to make it as authentic as possible. He wants to depict the Indian Army's bravery and how they fought despite not being armed with sufficient artillery and equipment.

The Federation of Western India Cinema Employees (FWICE) has written to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Uddhav Thackeray to allow the Mumbai film industry to resume partial work.
The letter dated 19 May 2020 asks the CM to allow post-production work to resume. Says the letter, “If permissions (sic.) are given to carry out such post-production activities…which can be done in closed studios with minimum workforce it would be great relief …. They (producers) shall be ready to release their projects immediately after the lockdown is lifted.”

The FWICE’s Chief Adviser Ashoke Pandit who is one of the undersigned in the letter says, “The film industry like the rest of the economy is reeling under an unprecedented economic crisis. We need to get back to work slowly because we can’t wait for the virus to go away. I don’t think it’s going away anytime in the near future. We have to work our way around it.”

Film producer Boney Kapoor has informed that domestic help at his residence at Green Acres, Lokhandwala Complex, Charan Sahu aged 23 years, has tested positive for Coronavirus. He was unwell on Saturday evening and Mr Kapoor sent him for tests and kept him in isolation. After receiving the test report, the Society Authorities were informed, who in turn informed the BMC. Immediately BMC and State Govt Authorities have started the process of getting him into a quarantine center.

Talking about his help testing positive, Boney Kapoor said, “Myself, my children and the other staff at home are all fine and none of us are showing any symptoms. In fact we haven’t left our home since the lockdown started. We are thankful to the Govt of Maharashtra and BMC for their swift response. We shall be diligently following the instructions and advice given to us by BMC and their medical team. We are sure that Charan would soon recover and be back at home with us.”

In November 2019, reports stated that Munna Bhai duo Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi will be back on the big screen in a comedy film. Recently, it was revealed that Sanjay will play the role of a blind don whereas Arshad will be his eyes.
