Mawra Hocane is a star who has come a long way in her career. She has lately been choosing very intelligent and thought provoking scripts. She is doing a great job with her characters and she recently impressed everyone as a domestic abuse survivor Dr Zara in Jafaa. She sat down with Something Haute and spoke about her journey and her career.
Mawra Hocane shared that she was known as a social media star and with Sabaat that perception started changing. She was not trying to take on Sabaat in order to do that and she was actually not going to do it. But that script made her go to her hometown Islamabad where she re-evaluated her stardom and responsibilities. She switched off the Instagram race and she wanted to do more meaningful work after that.

She also shared that she picked up Jafaa because she wanted to shed light on the emotional and physical abuse women go through in society. She added that Dr Zara tells the world how financial independence also cannot completely save you from it, though it helps in recovery. Mawra Hocane also shared that some people from the industry have shared their stories of suffering abuse with her post Jafaa.
