Netflix’s latest series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is garnering praise because it is a beautiful piece of art that has been made with sheer excellence. Sanjay Leela Bhansali offered a brilliant storyline, top-notch performances and extravagant sets. The series was released on Netflix on May 1, 2024. The series features a stellar cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman, and others.
Well, Pakistani artists, actors and other celebrities are also taking keen interest in Heeramandi because the series has its historical background connected to Lahore, Pakistan. The recent Pakistani celebrity who talked about Heeramandi is HSY who is a popular designer and a brilliant actor as well.
In Dawn News’ show Aap Ki Kahani, hosted by Deepak Parwani, HSY revealed the characters he would have loved to play in Heeramandi.
Talking about it, HSY said, “it is a good question because the show has a lot of complexities and it is a very talked-about series currently, many are relating to it, many are not relating to it, many are thinking it is their place so they are talking about it in a critical manner. I would have played the character of Tajdaar’s father in the show because that character has many layers to it. He has less scenes but his betrayal has left a mark that one can’t forget about it. The other role I would have played would have been the Nawab who leaves Bebo Jan and goes to another one. His character also had twists, the character which goes to another person and showing the same love and eventually abandoning that love too because of his family values, it would have been an amazing character as well. People are saying that the series has many complexities but I think it is well narrated”.
