Women in Pakistan go through a lot. From subtle gender biases to full blown cases of honour killings and acid attacks, women hve been targeted everywhere and they are struggling to find their power in the overall political and social spheres in Pakistan. Pakistan regressed a lot in the last few decades as many different ideologies were pushed on people which they either could not understand or could not accept. This gave rise to extremism in different forms and moral policing of even normal Western clothes.
Seemi Raheel is a veteran artist who has seen it all in her life. She was on Hasna Mana hai and shared that she used to go to markets wearing jeans and a shirt when she was a student at NCA. This was normal and no one thought anything of it or stared but later on after an era of dictatorship, Pakistan regressed culturally.
She said that Pakistan went into dark ages and it has still not recovered from that phase of forced religious ideologies.
