Pain and trauma are a part of our society in one form or another and women are mostly the ones affected by it. From being acid attack victims to victims of child marriage, from facing abusive in laws to not getting inheritance from parents, women in Pakistan face a plethora of issues but we have institutions who try to step up and help rehabilitate these people. And Sarim Burney trust is one place which has given shelter and legal help to so many women and helped them move forward in life to better conditions but often times when we hear cases of injustice, they are enough to shake us from within and that is what happened on Nida Yasir’s show.
Nida Yasir did a special program with the Sarim Burney Trust on Good Morning Pakistan and a woman came there who was siold off by her father at the age of 12 for just a buffalo. She then went on in life tolerating all the pain but now she stood up and left her home when her husband also tried to do the same with her daughter and tried to sold her for a buffalo.
