“It was a little sad in a lot of ways because I have worked lots of times in India and have a lot of friends there. For them to want to step in and interfere and prevent me from coming here and threaten me by saying that I would be denied entry in India is sad and disappointing. I have never liked politics in sports. There is a lot of politics back home in South Africa cricket too. It’s really sad when politics get involved in sports,” Gibbs stated.

The 47-year old said that he truly believes that politics has no role to play in any sport. He said that he decided to take part in the KPL because he loves cricket, and a wonderful opportunity was presented to him to take part in the league.

Gibbs said that he is enjoying his time so far in the KPL and is in awe of the beauty of Kashmir. He said that the views are mesmerizing, and the high-quality cricket being played will help promote the sport in the area.
