KP Issues New COVID-19 SOPs

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has issued new COVID-19 SOPs after a decline in the number of cases in the province. These SOPS are effective from today (1 July).

According to a notification by the provincial government, all commercial activities, establishments, and markets in KP are to be closed by 10 PM. However, it exempts medical services, pharmacies, medical stores, vaccination centers, tandoor, dairy shops, hotels, e-commerce, utility services, petrol pumps, and agricultural machinery shops/workshops from this curfew.

Additionally, all types of commercial activities, establishments, and markets will be completely closed for one day a week.

All types of outdoor marriage functions are allowed with a maximum of 400 guests but in strict compliance with the COVID-19 SOPs, and indoor marriage functions are allowed only for vaccinated individuals with a maximum of 200 guests. All other kinds of indoor and outdoor gatherings and events will remain banned.

Indoor and outdoor dining is permissible until 11:59 PM, but indoor dining at 50 percent occupancy will only be allowed for vaccinated individuals.

Offices are allowed to continue work with 100 percent attendance. Public transport is allowed to operate at 70 percent capacity. Similarly, cinemas are allowed to open for vaccinated individuals only and with strict implementation of the SOPs.

Sports activities including boxing, martial arts, rugby, water polo, kabaddi, wrestling; and festivals, cultural events; and other events and activities will remain banned.

However, amusement parks, water sports, and swimming pools are allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity.
