Governor Punjab’s House saved Rs. 13.6 million during FY2020-21 thanks to the austerity measures implemented by PM Imran Khan since 2018.
According to details, the total budget allocated for the Governor House for the ongoing fiscal year was Rs. 15.6 million but only Rs. 2 million were utilized.

Since assuming office in 2018, Governor Punjab, Chaudhry Sarwar, has been monitoring the monthly expenses of the Governor House personally.
Although visitors are offered only tea with biscuits, the Governor has ordered the staff to further cut the expenses of the Governor’s House.

Last year, Governor Punjab also announced the business plan for the Governor House in order to make it financially self-sustainable.
Under the business plan, the hall and lawn of Governor House are available for corporate events, wedding, and commercial photo shoots while guided tours of the entire Governor House can be booked on weekends.
