Fake News: mRNA Vaccines Will Not Kill You

A message doing rounds on social media platforms which claims that mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines could halve the global population in the next five years is not backed by any scientific evidence and has turned out to be fake.

The fake statement has been shared by thousands of social media users who have uploaded a screenshot of a post originally uploaded on “Brighteon Social,” a pro-liberty social network.

The original post on Brighteon Social was uploaded in January this year by a user named “Health Ranger.” The post apparently shared an important reminder about mRNA vaccines.

It states:

Most people who take the mRNA vaccine will be dead within 5 years. So far, 4.2 million doses have been administered in the United States, and that number is growing by the day. The population by 2025 maybe HALF of what it is now, depending on how many take the mRNA vax.

A simple cross-search on the internet shows that “Health Ranger” is a nickname used by Mike Adams, who is a self-proclaimed consumer health advocate and internet activist.

Google had blacklisted Mike’s right-wing conspiracy website “Natural News” in 2017. In January this year, Facebook also took down the page of Natural News that had 3 million followers.

Scientists worldwide have rejected the spurious claim by the right-wing conspiracist and asserted that there is no scientific evidence that suggests that mRNA vaccines have caused any deaths or will do so in the next five years. There is also no scientific evidence that the population could be halved by 2025 as a result.

Pfizer and Moderna are the two mRNA-based vaccines that have been approved in the US. Both vaccines were developed last year, meaning there is not yet any data on their long-term effects.

The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), based on the results of the clinical trials of both vaccines, has declared the vaccines as safe and effective. The CDC is also actively monitoring reported side effects of both vaccines through its Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).
