Bangladesh has climbed to the top of the ICC World Cup Super League after winning the second ODI against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Bangladesh has registered five victories in eight matches, moving to the top of the table with 50 points to their name.

Bangladesh will have a chance to extend their lead as they face a young Sri Lankan side in the third ODI, scheduled to be played on Friday. Bangladesh has already won the series, winning the first two matches, and will have a chance of whitewashing their Asian rivals in the final ODI.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, is at the bottom of the table in the twelfth spot, having lost all five of their matches. They will need to recuperate quickly to have any chance of making it to the top eight and qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023.

The top eight teams, including hosts, India, will directly qualify for the World Cup in 2023, while the remaining five will have to play qualifiers to enter the mega event.
