West Indies Announces a Strong T20I Squad for Pakistan Series

West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has named an 18 member provisional squad for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa, Australia, and Pakistan. According to the WICB officials, these 18 members will shape up their squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in October-November.

The star all-rounder, Andre Russell, was the biggest inclusion in the West Indies squad after being sidelined from the team for more than a year. Russell is one of the most destructive T20 players in the world, and his magnificent form in the recently suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) has earned him a call-up to the national side.

The destructive all-rounder, Carlos Brathwaite, and the fast bowler, Alzarri Joseph, were the two surprise exclusions from the squad as the selectors opted for alternatives such as the veteran all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, and the young fast bowler, Obed McCoy.

West Indies coach, Phil Simmons, was delighted at the way the national squad has shaped up.
