ZTE Teases its Nubia Z30 Pro With Edge-to-Edge Notchless Display

Last year, ZTE launched the world’s first phone with an under-display camera dubbed the ZTE Axon 20. Now, the company is working on another handset with the same tech. However, this time it will not be from the Axon series, rather will belong to the Nubia Z-series.

Last week, ZTE Nubia’s VP Ni Fei confirmed that the company will launch the Nubia Z30 Pro on May 20 with an under-display camera. This new selfie camera will likely have quality improvements over the last generation.

Soon after the announcement, Nubia uploaded an official teaser of the upcoming phone along with the confirmed launch date.

As far as the new camera tech is concerned, it was demoed at MWC Shanghai which took place in February. Later on, Fei posted an image revealing the position of the camera is practically invisible, which is a massive upgrade over the first-gen solution in the Axon 20 that had a prominent square due to the basic pixel redistribution.

The specifications of the Nubia Z30 are still under wraps. However, leaked images reveal that the handset will come with a curved notch-less AMOLED display, a square-shaped quad-camera module, and 100x hybrid zoom support. Other text on the cutout shows that the phone will also get ultrawide and telephoto camera lenses.

More details will be revealed soon.
