As Pakistan continues to face the devastating third wave of the coronavirus, both the federal and provincial governments are scrambling to come with ways to curb its spread. In a promising development, the Sindh government has launched a COVID-19 home vaccination drive in a bid to aid the home-bound senior residents across the province.
The facility is currently available for Karachi and Hyderabad only. Sindh health department secretary added that gradually, the service will be offered in other parts of the province as well.

The government is administering the Sinopharm and Sinovac (CoronaVac) shots to those registering for the home vaccination facility. The mobile helplines to register for the service are 9123 and 1025, while those registering for the service through landline can dial 021-111-119-123.
The official Twitter page of the CM House also stated the Sindh government will also begin providing coronavirus vaccines to private hospitals across the province starting from today to ramp up the immunization drive.

The update added that, since May 6, the government has been observing a rise in the COVID-19 cases in Karachi. The tweet further stated that quarantine facilities are also being alerted to tackle any unforeseen and unfavorable situation.
