Up until now, there have only been rumors regarding a Redmi smartwatch, but this has now been confirmed via an official teaser. The company’s General Manager Lu Weibing shared an image on Weibo that confirms we are getting a new Redmi smartwatch tomorrow.
As usual, the teaser does not reveal any details on the wearable but the caption, as well as the image, confirm its arrival. The caption says that it will be a lightweight watch and will have a square-shaped dial similar to the Xiaomi Mi Watch. It will be arriving alongside the Redmi Note 9 5G tomorrow.
The Redmi Watch is expected to be a rebranded version of the Mi Watch Lite meant for China. The Mi Watch Lite has a 1.4-inch touchscreen color display with support for automatic brightness. It will have a plethora of fitness features and will be water-resistant up to 50 meters.
It will have a GPS chip built into it, a 230 mAh battery, and 24-hour heart rate monitoring.
We will find out more details tomorrow. As mentioned earlier, the Redmi Note 9 5G is also set to debut at this event and is expected to bring major upgrades over the original Redmi Note 9.
