Babar is one of the best batsmen in the world right now and is certainly Pakistan’s most crucial player. The critics were of the view that the added pressure of captaincy might affect Babar’s batting. But Babar silenced the critics and showed his class with the bat and on the field as captain.

Under Babar’s captaincy, Pakistan have enjoyed quite a decent record, registering series wins against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka and drawing the T20I series against England.

Babar’s first series as captain was against Australia in Australia. Pakistan lost the three-match T20I series 2-0. But Babar was exceptional with the bat, scoring 2 half-centuries in the series.

After that, Bangladesh toured Pakistan as the hosts won the three-match T20I series 2-0, with Babar scoring yet another half-century.

The three-match T20I series in England ended with a 1-1 draw as Babar jotted down another half-century.
