English County Warwickshire Wants to Tour Pakistan for Pre-Season Training

According to reports, a couple of English first-class counties are in talks with PCB to come to Pakistan for their pre-season tours.

According to sources, Warwickshire County cricket club is interested in coming to Pakistan as preparation for the first-class season in England and has held talks with PCB CEO Wasim Khan regarding the matter.

Wasim Khan is a former Warwickshire player himself and has guaranteed his former club of good quality opposition to practice against and top-notch facilities to train.

Warwickshire is keen to send their whole first-team squad to Pakistan in March 2021.

Two senior Warwickshire players, Will Rhodes and Oliver Hannon-Dalby were part of the squad of MCC which recently toured Pakistan. It is said that both the players have praised the facilities and had a good experience in Pakistan.

Just like the MCC tour, Warwickshire county cricket club is expected to be hosted at Aitchison College Lahore.

Recently, England cricket team also expressed their desire to tour Pakistan early next year, ECB confirmed that they are in talks with PCB regarding a short tour, most probably three T20I’s, in late January or early February. This will be England’s first tour of Pakistan since 2005.

Warwickshire will announce their final decision after assessing the security, financial and Covid-19 situation in the country.
