It’s safe to say there is nothing that cannot be purchased online in this day and age. Some people may consider Pakistan to be slightly behind the latest digital trends, but the booming e-commerce business tells a different story.
Especially when you look at the online grocery stores that offer home delivery. The world’s current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the demand for ordering groceries online, and stores are struggling to keep up with this pressure.
During this difficult and unpredictable situation, people are worried about struggling to carry out daily chores in order to survive. The most pertinent example is grocery shopping.
Stores are full of shoppers, all trying to purchase as much as they can, and most people are starting to look for alternatives to fulfill this need. The COVID-19 pandemic has put us all in a tough spot, whereby we have to choose between staying safe at home or going to purchase groceries to continue a semblance of a normal life.
However, a new mobile application, October Now, seems to check all the boxes when it comes to consumer safety and convenience, and it could not have come at a better time.
The app was set to officially launch in May, but due to the outbreak, BenchMatrix, the developers of the app, decided to pull forward the timeline and release early to help keep the nation safe.
Although there is no shortage of online grocery stores in Pakistan, with around 20 such services, the October Now app is a game changer. The application is available for download on Android at present.
October Now allows users to select from a variety of known grocery stores across the city and their own neighborhood. They can then select the specific items that they want, select by category and see the exact merchant prices with no hidden costs.
October Now users will also be able to compare prices for similar products from different grocery stores, so they can make a well-informed decision and get the best deal without ever having to leave the comfort of their homes.
Additionally, users will be able to build their own list of favorites for items that they order often, so repeat purchases of the same products from the same stores is possible with just a few taps of the screen.
It is important to mention that October Now is not charging any delivery fees for the deliveries made during this difficult time that the nation is going through. BenchMatrix’s sole focus and objective is to ensure that everyone is safe and at home, mitigating the spread of the novel coronavirus, with no ulterior motive or profit margin.
Launched in Karachi only, the app is poised for a nationwide launch in the very near future. October Now riders, aptly named the Biker Boyz are working diligently to ensure the safest experience for all October Now users.
Shoppers are urged to use this service to safely shop for their needs without leaving their homes. The sooner we adapt to services like October Now, the faster we can expect things to get back to what we consider normal.
