Selpic, a digital printing solution, has developed several innovative quick-drying handy printer technologies over the past few years. The company has gained a lot of traction for its handheld printers, that, unlike many, provide vibrant and vivid prints.
Taking things to the next level, the company recently announced its newest product, the Selpic P1, World’s most portable handheld printer.
Design and Construction
The portable printer weighs only 180 grams and measures 5.12 x 1.22 x 0.94 inches. It has a pen-like design; hence, it can easily fit in your pocket and will not take a lot of space in a backpack or a briefcase.
Selpic P1 is designed to print logos, texts, photos, barcodes, QR codes, etc. and can easily print on different surfaces like metal, textiles, plastics, wood, leather, of course, paper, as well as other printable surfaces. It comes with 300 tiny nozzles per head with 0.002-inch nozzle spacing. This allows Selpic P1 to print at 600 DPI resolution, which is very high considering its size.
According to the company, the printing speed can be programmed via the printer’s smartphone application. If you select the maximum speed, it will eject 18 million drops per second, without compromising on the precision. Moreover, Selpic claims that the printer uses advanced water-based ink that provides “better clarity, more vivid colors, and longer-lasting effects.”
Functionality
The Selpic P1 comes with a 7-volt lithium-polymer battery and is capable of providing 3 hours of non-stop printing. Moreover, it can print up to 90 A4 papers in one go, that too, with 5% of the ink cartridge.
It connects to a smartphone with Selpic’s iOS/Android application and gives the user complete control over printing speeds, type of print, and other features.
Pricing and Availability
Selpic P1 will soon be available on Indiegogo for only $99. This is the early bird discounted price available for the first 500 customers. After that, the price will go up to around $220.
