There was a time when HTC was considered as one of the most unique smartphone manufacturers in the world. Over the years, the Taiwanese corporation lost its charm and now sits pretty much at the bottom of the list. Last month, a design sketch of a new HTC Desire smartphone was making rounds on the internet. From the looks of it, the HTC Desire 20 looks like a pretty decent mid-range smartphone.
Unfortunately, the specifications of the smartphone seem pretty dated. HTC Desire 20’s specifications were recently listed on the Google Play Console.
According to the listing, the handset is codenamed htc_bymdugl. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is disappointing since the chipset is almost a year old and is usually used in budget smartphones. The chipset will be topped with 6 GB of RAM, which, again, is an odd pairing.
The display of the smartphone has upper-midrange tier written all over it. Based on the leak, the smartphone will sport a display with FHD+ resolution and will run on Android 10 out of the box. HTC seems a little confused here with the specifications of the smartphone. Here’s to hoping the company figures out sooner than later and gets its charm back.
Other specifications of the device are still under wraps. Keep logging in for more details.
