Pakistan’s batting great, Younis Khan, has stepped down as the national cricket team’s batting coach days ahead of Pakistan’s tour to England and West Indies.
As per ESPNCricinfo, it was a mutual decision between Younis and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and he will not be a part of Pakistan’s contingent for the upcoming foreign tours.

Younis was appointed as batting coach in November last year on a two-year contract that was supposed to last till T20 World Cup in 2022.
With this appointment, he joined the likes of Misbah-ul-Haq (head coach), Waqar Younis (bowling coach), and Mushtaq Ahmed (spin bowling coach) ahead of Pakistan’s tour to England last year.

This was his first appointment in the coaching set-up at PCB since his retirement from Test cricket in 2017.
Pakistan produced mixed results during his time as the batting coach. During the first two foreign tours to England and New Zealand, Pakistan drew two and lost three tests before beating South Africa across formats – both home and away – followed by a successful tour of Zimbabwe.
