According to a recent Weibo post, some tipsters claim to have received replies from Wang Teng Thomas, Redmi’s Product Director. The Director has reportedly confirmed that the Mi Pad 5 lineup is not arriving this month, but sometime during the second half of the year. This means that we are not going to see the new tablets until July 2021.

Rumor has it that a higher-end variant, the Mi Pad 5 Pro will also tag along with the Mi Pad 5. These tablets have previously competed with the likes of Apple’s iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Huawei’s MediaPad, and the latest model is expected to feature premium specifications once again.

The Mi Pad 5 Pro is rumored to feature a 2K LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, whereas the base Mi Pad 5 will feature the Snapdragon 870. The tablets will have a camera setup that looks similar to the Xiaomi Mi 11, as shown in the image above.

We will update this space as soon as there is more information on a launch date.
