Windows 11 is Launching This Year, Release Date Revealed

Windows 11 was announced last week, but Microsoft never revealed a precise launch date, only saying that it’s coming “this holiday”. However, taking a closer look at the official Windows 11 images shows hints towards an October launch.

The image below shows Windows 11 signed in with Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer’s account Panos Panay. At the top right corner, there is a Microsoft Teams message from Stevie Bathiche of the Surface Team which says “Good luck today, Panos! Excited to turn it up to 11… can’t wait for October!”.

Have a look.

Additionally, the official Windows 11 promo images shown by Microsoft on its website also have the October 20, 2021 date in the taskbar. This can still be seen on the Windows 11 page on Microsoft’s website.

Even the retail giant Walmart seems to know something we don’t, as it has been hinting on the date as well. The company says this with some of the laptops it’s selling:

Free Upgrade to Windows October 2021. Upgrade rollout plan is being finalized and is scheduled to begin late in 2021 and continue into 2022

However, keep in mind that the date will only become official once Microsoft announces it, which is expected to happen over the coming months.
