Swat’s COVID Positivity Ratio Shoots Up to 50 Percent

In an alarming development, the COVID-19 positivity ratio in Swat has shot up to 50 percent, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) overall infection rate hovering at 7 percent in the last 24 hours.

A statement from the health department informed on Wednesday that Tank’s positivity ratio remained at 43 percent, Mardan’s 21 percent, while Swabi and Buner’s prevalence ratio was recorded at 14 percent.

On the other hand, 11 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had no cases at all.

Despite the government’s efforts to curb the third outbreak of coronavirus, the pandemic doesn’t seem to be going away any soon.

During the last 24 hours, Pakistan has reported 4,397 coronavirus recoveries, according to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) data. This is the ninth consecutive day when the country has recorded over 4,000 infections. With the addition of new cases, Pakistan’s total has risen to 743,124, and the recovery rate is 87.9 percent.

Out of these cases, Punjab reported 1,906 coronavirus cases and 68 deaths, Sindh reported 1,038 new cases and four new deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 629 coronavirus cases and 31 deaths, while Balochistan reported 124 coronavirus cases and one death.
