Sniffer Dogs Detect Infected Passenger at Peshawar Airport

Two sniffer dogs trained to detect coronavirus-infected travelers helped to detect one such passenger by sniffing swabs.

According to the details, 177 passengers had landed at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport on a private airline’s flight today, and their samples for COVID-19 were taken. Fortunately, the dogs at the airport detected the deadly virus in one of the flyers’ samples.

Sniffer dogs have also been deployed at the New Islamabad International Airport to identify COVID-19 patients entering Pakistan from abroad.

Following the National Command and Operation Centre’s (NCOC) approval, the Pakistan Army provided specially trained dogs to airport authorities.

The dogs were trained at the Pakistan Army’s Dog Breeding Training Centre and School to identify passengers infected with the coronavirus. This decision was taken after several passengers had produced fake reports of COVID-19 upon arrival at Pakistani airports.
