Sindh to Convert Schools Into COVID-19 Vaccination Centers

Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD) has decided to set up COVID-19 vaccination centers in all schools and colleges in the province.

According to details, SELD has ordered Education Directors to identify two educational institutions in each district of the province that will be converted into vaccination centers.

All teaching and non-teaching staff will be vaccinated against COVID-19 at the vaccination centers. The provincial government aims to immunize over 100,000 individuals at these centers.

A day earlier, the Sindh government postponed the reopening of all public and private educational institutions indefinitely due to the prevailing Coronavirus situation in the province.

In this regard, Education Minister, Saeed Ghani, said that all schools and colleges will continue to impart online education to students in the meantime.

He added that educational institutions will remain closed until further orders and only 50% of the teaching staff will be allowed to visit the campuses in accordance with the SOPs issued by the provincial government.
